The Lord Sits Enthroned Over the Flood

The Lord sits enthroned over the flood; the Lord is enthroned as King forever. The Lord gives His people strength; the Lord blesses His people with peace. Psalms 29:10-11

Above All Powers

He is King of Kings and Lord of Lords. He is above all powers. All. There aren’t other gods. He is the one and only.

That’s not to say that there are not other powers. There certainly are. Strong powers compared to me for sure. Demonic powers.

But they have no power next to God. Demonic power, Satanic power does not matter next to God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. Period.

But more to the verse. He is enthroned over everything that happens. He is in charge, even in disaster. A flood, a fire, an earthquake, a hurricane, take no power away from Him. He did not suddenly lose control of the earth for a minute. No. He sits enthroned. The book of Job shows this.

The Tapestry of His Will

And He works the tapestry of His will in and through His every act and everything that happens. My life, my family’s life, my friend’s lives are all part of that.

He is enthroned as King, past, present and future. It never ends. Though Satanic powers try to take Him down, they can’t. The lost before the foundation of the world, but historically, they lost at His death and resurrection.

He is enthroned and in His position as king, He chooses to give His people strength. This is in the context of Him saying that He is enthroned above the flood. I would rather just get the strength directly. But I’m not God. He is. I serve Him. This life is filled to the brim with tests and challenges. Sometimes I feel like I must fail most of them. But He’s not done with me. I haven’t flunked out.

Blesses With Peace

He gives me strength. Without it, I have nothing to work with. Just a mess. But in the Lord, I have strength against all manner of difficulty.

And in the flood, He blesses me with peace.

One of my challenges is that I worry about my children, especially my adult children. I worry about my wife. I worry about my ability to cope with these challenges. He tells me that He sits enthroned above the flood.

He gives me strength to handle it. To grow. To take the next step. To trust Him.

And He gives me soul satisfying peace. Right now.

Lord, I declare that you sit enthroned above the flood in my life. You are in control of my family. I am not. You are sovereign over the physics and biophysics in my life. You reign over all of my relationships. Right now, I give my will to you. I surrender. Today. Blessed be the Name of the Lord.
