He Strengthens - Is 40:28-31

Image
Do you not know? Have you not heard? The Lord is the everlasting God, the Creator of the whole earth. He never becomes faint or weary; there is no limit to his understanding. He gives strength to the faint and strengthens the powerless. Youths may become faint and weary, and young men stumble and fall, but those who trust in the Lord will renew their strength; they will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not become weary, they will walk and not faint. Isaiah 40:28-31 Yes, I have heard that the Lord is the Everlasting God! He is. When’s the last time you took that in? Hey, I need to do it more regularly! He is the creator. Why does Isaiah bother saying all of this about God? Here’s what I think: It’s because there is something about me that easily drifts into making up my own designer god of my own imagination, one seemingly more convenient for me than the Lord of Heaven and Earth. One I can control.  The idol that I invent is good for nothing but to make me miserable,

Out of the Riches of His Glory - Ephesians 3:16-17

Image
I ask that out of the riches of His glory He may strengthen you with power through His Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. Then you, being rooted and grounded in love… Ephesians 3:16-17 Strengthen You This verse says I am strengthened out of the riches of His glory. I need that strength. I am not God. I serve Him. I need power to serve Him. It seems like I falter over and over and over. I also can pray that other believers be strengthened. When I see a brother or sister hurting or weak, I get to ask that God strengthen them! How? In what way? OUT OF THE RICHES OF HIS GLORY! I often zoom right past that idea. My strength comes from the riches of His glory. Knock me over with a feather. There is plenty for all. (And I can pray that the believers around me get it too...) With what do I get strengthened? With power through His Spirit in my inner being. This is treasure. More valuable than any chest that any pirate ever buried. I am a believe

Dearly Loved, Sacrificially So - 2 Thessalonians 2:16-17

Image
Now may our Lord Jesus Christ himself and God our Father, who loved us and by his grace gave us eternal comfort and a wonderful hope, comfort you and strengthen you in every good thing you do and say. 2 Thessalonians 2:16-17 Who I Am In Christ! I am putting the brakes on my eyeballs to take this in. I love the Lord. I am a believer. So this verse says: I am loved by Jesus and God the Father, God gives me eternal comfort He gives me a wonderful hope, He comforts me, He strengthens me, In every good thing I do, In every good thing I say. God Bends Over Backwards to Give Us Hope Who am I in Christ? I am this: dearly loved. Sacrificially so. I matter to Him so much that He's given me eternal comfort. ETERNAL comfort is what the verse says. I can hardly take that in. In recent months, I see over and over this word HOPE in the New Testament. God  bends over backwards  to give us hope! And He wants us to know it  for sure . We don't have to dig hard to find it. Just try to avoid hope
