When I Pray - Mark 11:24

Therefore I say to you, whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you will receive them, and you will have them. - Mark 11:24

When Believers Talk to God

Believers talk to God. Right?

Talking to God is not simply adding CO2 into the air, or moving electrical thought pulses around my brain. It is talk. It's engaging with the one true God.

"Always pray in the Spirit," He says.

I am reading a verse which says WHATEVER you ask, BELIEVE, and YOU WILL HAVE them.

This verse is written for the children of God. That matters. Because His children know how to ask for good things. They are redeemed, washed.

When I act like a heathen, the prayer He awaits is a prayer of repentance, restoring the relationship. If I am not seeking His face, He is pressuring me to do it.

God is Not a Casino

When I am filled with the Spirit, walking in the light, I am filled with good desires, and He answers those with joy. He loves to answer the prayers of His children.

God is not a casino. So often I have acted like I'm rolling dice. I blow on my hands and roll hoping that the god of luck will be with my prayer. That's how I have treated the God of Heaven.

But He is not luck. He is almighty. Now. He listens to me. That always blows my mind when I think about it.

I can cast my cares upon Him. My fear of the future. My worries. I can ask Him to make me like Him. I can ask Him to count me worthy of His calling. These are good. I know because the word says I can pray these things.

He wants me to know that I am loved by Him. Today.

Lord, teach me how to pray, deeply, richly. Fill me with good desires. I desire to watch you answer them. Over and over. Fill me with faithfulness. I surrender to you. I follow you. I serve you. Right now. Teach me to ask, believe, and see. Lord, help each one who reads this to seek your face, to turn from sin, to reach out for your love and forgiveness and to delight in you. Blessed be the Name of the Lord.
